Milano Golosa fifth edition sets to start
Davide Paolini, friend of I Love Italian Food, is preparing the fifth edition of Milano Golosa, the gastronomical event scheduled from the 15th to the 17th of October at Palazzo del Ghiaccio, and concerning alternative methods of winemaking and of wine refinement.
The most highly anticipated moment is surely that of the panel discussion at 11am on Monday 17th October, when Benjamin Zidarich, winemaker of Carso, will share the millennial old traditions of wine and oil preservation in vessels made of stone derived from caves in the region. Stefano Amerighi will bring experience gained on the Monti Sibillini in Arquata del Tronto, today devastated by the earthquake, where since 2012 he has refined Pecorino in 54 liter capacity glass jugs, a container he describes as being simply "perfect". Meanwhile, with Fabio Gea, from Piedmont, one can hear about a journey which began in 2010 with the experimentation of innovative wine containers designed ad hoc for their specific requirements, in particular ceramic baked at high temperatures, like grès and porcelain. At the end of the panel discussion it will be possible to taste the wines that have been refined in stone, glass and ceramic.
Seven tastings will enliven the three days of Milano Golosa 2016 with a calendar organized in collaboration with WineMi, the network comprising 5 of Milan’s historical wine shops, symbolic of the Milanese culture of drinking well: Enoteca Eno Club, Cantine Isola, La Cantina di Franco, Enoteca Ronchi, Radrizzani Drogheria Enoteca, in partnership with several important Italian cantinas.
The tastings will last approximately an hour and a half and will be guided by experts from the wine producers in question: visitors will not just be treated to simple introductions to the wines, but to authentic and precise in-depth analyses that will captivate them with the more distinguished labels and vintages. Completing the winemaking offering is the presence of numerous cantinas, coming from all over Italy, at the tastings.
Milano Golosa will be open to the public on Saturday 15th October (from 1pm until 9pm), Sunday 16th October (from 10am until 8pm) and Monday 17th October (from 10am until 5pm). Many of the events will also involve other locations – restaurants and wine shops in the center – with the Fuori Milano Golosa program.
